Texas World War I Centennial Celebration Luncheon — San Antonio
Invitation: On behalf of the Texas and San Antonio World War Centennial Commemoration Committee and Alamo Couriers Chapter, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, we would be honored to have you be present at an event to honor America’s veterans past (World War I) and present (all branches active duty and veterans).
Date: Saturday, May 20, 2017 (Armed Forces Day), 11:30am – 2:00pm
Place: Hangar 9 (only surviving hangar from WW I in the United States) Brooks City Base, 8081 Inner Circle Rd/S. New Braunfels Street, San Antonio, TX 78235
Brooks City-Base is located off of SE Military Drive (near US 281/I-37 South). Enter via the S. New Braunfels entrance and go straight. Hangar 9 is at the intersection of Inner Circle and S. New Braunfels Street.
Event: World War I was a turning point in history; come join us to commemorate that 100 year old event. The Office of Military Affairs for the City of San Antonio San Antonio as “Military City USA”. Following the luncheon we will have a wreath laying ceremony at the grave of Sidney Brooks a few feet away from Hangar 9.
