Steven Spielberg\, U.S.) as part of Indie Film Series. \nWHAT: WAR HORSE is a 2011 war drama film directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay written by Lee Hall and Richard Curtis and based on Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 novel of the same name and its 2007 play adaptation. \nSet before and during World War I\, the film tells of the journey of Joey\, a horse raised by British teenager Albert\, as he is bought by the British Army\, leading him to encounter numerous individuals and owners throughout Europe\, all the while experiencing the tragedies of the war happening around him.\ \nThis screening is part of the Fredericksburg Texas World War I Centennial Commemoration Veterans Day events and WWI posters will be on display at the theater for the screening.
