MEMORIAL OBSERVANCE — PVT ZACK BROOKS

Centennial Memorial Observance in Honor of PVT Zack Brooks, 165th Depot Brigade, United States Army. PVT Brooks Died in the Service of His Country on 10 August 1918. He was one of five African-American servicemen from Chatfield and surrounding country to give his life in World War I.
The observance will be help on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Chatfield Memorial Cemetery #1. Music will be provided by the First World War Drum & Bugle Corps of the Heritage Brass Band. Remarks will be made by Dr. Lila Rakoczy of the Texas Historical Commission
Sponsored by The Hodge-Martin-Chatfield Museum with the assistance of the Chatfield Baptist Church.
Water will be provided at the Cemetery and Refreshments to Follow at the Chatfield Baptist Church.
