variedEvent Navigation
The Museum of the American G.l. is proud to host a two-day immersive event commemorating the Centennial of Armistice Day on November 10 & 11, 2018. Special exhibits, both inside and out, will honor the 800 WWI veterans buried in the Brazos Valley and the 60 WWI Gold Star Aggies. The Museum of the American G.I. has the largest and most authentic WWI battlefield in the South. Through immersive tours, visitors will gain insight on life in a WWI trench and trench warfare. The event will culminate on Sunday, November 11, in WWI battle reenactment of a charge “Over the Top” between the Allied and Central powers. The battle will highlight the only restored operational French Renault tank in North American along with artillery and iconic machine guns of WWI. The reenactment will end promptly at 11:00 AM marking the cessation of hostilities that took place at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. A short program will follow commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day. Don’t let this special once in a life time experience pass you by as we honor the veterans of the Great War. Only at the Museum of the American G.I. where History Comes Alive!
